This Design-Build project involves widening 9 miles of Interstate 64 in Chesapeake, Virginia from 4 lanes to 6 lanes. The construction will include adding one HOT lanes in each direction, adding one shoulder lane in each direction, adding a new High Rise Bridge, retrofitting the existing High Rise Bridge for 1-way traffic, replacing the Great Bridge Boulevard Bridge and widening 6 bridges total on I-64. The goals of the project are to increase capacity, improve safety, and provide an enhanced emergency evacuation route.

DMY is providing field and laboratory quality control (QC) services during the construction of the project which includes performing field inspection/tests and obtaining samples for offsite testing in accordance with the VDOT Minimum Requirements for Quality Assurance and Quality Control on Design-Build and Public-Private Transportation Act Projects, dated January 2012.
