PROJECT COMPLETION

2014

This design-build project involved widening about 1.8 miles of Prince William Parkway from a four-lane divided to a six-lane divided highway. Other associated improvements included adding/extending turn lanes at a number of intersections, retaining walls, stormwater management facilities, and culvert extensions.

The cost of this project was approximately $15,000,000. DMY provided engineering services, including pavement coring, soil test drilling and sampling, infiltration testing, traffic control, laboratory testing, and geotechnical engineering calculations, analyses and recommendations for roadway embankments, pavements, and structures. DMY also provided the Quality Assurance services during the construction phase of the project. All work was performed in accordance with VDOT requirements.

DMY worked closely with the project design-build team and the VDOT Materials Division to implement a two-step geotechnical report delivery approach, which kept the project on schedule while meeting the requirements of the VDOT Materials Division.
